Rector
Reverend Matt Overturf
Fr. Matt joined St. Anne’s in July of 2024. He received his M. Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) with a certificate in New Mission Practices in 2024. Matt grew up in several places, but primarily in Oklahoma and Arkansas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre with a Minor in Communication from Southwest Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from Arkansas State University. Prior to entering ordained ministry, he taught for 12 years at the high school and college levels.
Matt and his daughter, Amelia (9), live in Jacksonville with their cat, Juno, after having previously lived in Fayetteville, NC, while attending seminary. When not reading, writing, or worshiping, he enjoys comic books and most things science fiction, hiking, playing strategy board games, exploring local attractions and museums, and cheering on his favorite hockey and soccer teams.
