Assisting in Worship
At St. Anne's, we’re excited to welcome lay volunteers to be a part of our worship experience! No matter your age, if you’re eager to share your talents and time, there’s a spot for you in this important ministry. Volunteering as a service participant is a wonderful way to connect with our community and enrich your experience of worship.
Our volunteer coordinators are here to train and schedule our amazing volunteers for Sunday morning services. Below, you’ll find a brief overview of the different ministries you can get involved with. If you’re interested in volunteering for this vital ministry or if you have questions, please reach out to our coordinators or the rector. They can also help you get added to the worship assistants schedule. We are excited to welcome you to the team!
Acolytes
Our youth and adult acolytes guide us in worship by carrying the cross during the procession and serving as torchbearers during the service. Acolytes also assist the clergy during the Eucharist (communion).
Acolytes Coordinator: Ashley Flemming
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a wonderful group of volunteers who prepare the Altar for Sunday morning services, as well as for weddings, funerals, and baptisms. They also take great care of the beautiful liturgical pieces and linens. Members enjoy a rotating schedule, and for many, being part of the Guild is a meaningful spiritual practice. It’s a lovely way to contribute to our community!
Altar Guild Coordinator: Kim Farrish and Orine Funk

Lay Eucharistic Ministers
Lay servers assist the clergy with the Eucharist (communion) during the service by offering the cup to each person who gathers at the altar.
Lay Servers Coordinator: Mark & Teah Bulris
Readers / Lectors
Readers, often called lectors, play a special role in our worship by reading the Holy Scriptures right before the Gospel reading. They also guide our congregation in the prayers of the people after the sermon.
Readers / Lectors Coordinator: Erin Chester
Ushers / Greeters
Our wonderful greeters play a key role in sharing the warmth of our community! They warmly welcome everyone who walks through our doors and make sure everyone receives a bulletin to help them participate in the worship. Plus, they’re there to assist with the offertory collection, ensuring a smooth and joyful experience for all.
Ushers Coordinator: Ty Hart
